Celebrate a Century-Worth of Daytona Racing at This New Exhibit
Come learn the fascinating history behind Ormond Beach, the Birthplace of Speed! Presented by the Ormond Beach Historical Society, this wonderful exhibit honors and preserves the Daytona area’s racing legacy. Presented at the Macdonald House, this exhibit highlights the activities and events of the “First Speed Week” which cemented Florida is racing’s history books!
The first annual Ormond-Daytona Beach Automobile Races were held just south of what is now the Granada Boulevard beach ramp over a one-mile course, and the yearly gathering developed into a longstanding relationship between Daytona and the racing world. Come experience all the incredible stories, artifacts, and in-depth photographs from these historic races and learn all about the first official automobile racing event ever held on the beach. It’s a captivating exhibit that every race fan will enjoy, so be sure to see it on display at the Macdonald House!
